FERI4Education: Successful launch at the Gluckenstein Comprehensive School
Hesse Sustainability Day was an exciting day for the 9th grade students at Bad Homburg's Gluckenstein Comprehensive School (GAG).
We would like to express our special thanks to Mr. Seel (head of the secondary school branch) and Ms. Braun (head of the secondary school branch and career guidance) and the entire GAG team for their dedicated efforts. We planned the event together in numerous preparatory meetings, and it couldn't have gone more professionally. From the seating and sound equipment to the punctual arrival of all the students, everything was perfectly organized. The young people were also well prepared in terms of content and participated very lively and interested in the discussions and question-and-answer sessions.

After a welcome by the director, Ms. Hartmann-Brichta, and an introductory lecture for the entire grade, a group of 26 young people worked together under the guidance of Antje Biber to determine the general significance of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), what contribution each individual can make to preserving our planet, and what future career profiles may result from this.

At the end of an intensive day, a core group of 15 future “GaG sustainability ambassadors” emerged, with whom we will implement further sustainability projects.

About the Gesamtschule am Gluckenstein
“A school with heart and mind” – that was the conclusion of the jury that certified the Gesamtschule am Gluckenstein (GAG) here in Bad Homburg with the “Career Orientation” seal of approval. The aim of its work is to provide all students with the best possible support and to further develop their diverse talents. One focus is on preparing young people to actively participate in society. This includes teaching attitudes and values such as sustainability and the awareness that today's actions determine the lives of future generations. This is precisely why we decided to collaborate with GAG on the FERI4Education project. We couldn't have found a better pilot partner.
